74 Fur Friends from Houston Shelters Need A Sponsor #AnimalRescue #RPMnation

This week, there are 74 #RPMFurFriends we helped rescue from homelessness who are ready to transport to their second chance at life.
In June, we transported 1,386 dogs and cats to our rescue partners in Wisconsin, Illinois, Virginia, and Colorado, and we are so proud of this accomplishment YOU helped us with! We’re not stopping there - rescue never sleeps and the needs never end. These 74 babies need us now.
Our total fundraising goal this week is $5,077.80 so we can save them all. That averages out to $68.61 per animal forRPM to be able to transport all 74 of these animals who are not yet sponsored.
Can you sponsor one of these 74 lives today? Any amount donated towards these animals is life-saving!
When you donate to RPM, you're helping save lives across Greater Houston. This week’s homeless animals in need are from BARC, Fort Bend Shelter, Harris County Animal Shelter, SPCA of Polk County, and Humble Animal Shelter.
Every one of them deserves this opportunity! Some have even sat in an under-supported shelter for 60 days feeling hopeless and alone. Others have injuries and need extensive medical attention that RPM cannot provide at our in-house clinic.
  • Ezra the cat was hit by a car and had a broken femur. He needed x-rays and a leg amputation for RPM to save his life. He is currently healing from his amputation.
  • Aspen is one of 18 dogs that RPM saved from SPCA of Polk County. She spent 59 lonely days in a kennel environment. She was out of hope and nearly out of time, then RPM stepped up save her.
  • Shakira the dog was alone and abandoned at a local park. Thankfully, a good samaritan called animal control and the officer who picked her up fell in love and was determined to make sure she left the shelter, ”the good way,” and he did! He reached out to RPM to see if we could help get her to safety. Shakira danced her way into our hearts and she is now considered safe as she waits to transport to our rescue partner so she can be adopted.
  • Brownie and her 8 puppies have spent time at SPCA of Polk County battling parvo, a deadly disease that affects unvaccinated dogs. They are so close to beating parvo though! We have a rescue group that wants to help them find their forever homes if we can get them healthy again and on the road to Wisconsin.
  • Bowie the dog from SPCA of Polk County has spent 74 long and homeless days in the shelter environment. Thankfully, RPM saw hope and wanted to give him a better future with our partner in Charlottesville, Virginia.
  • Frea the neglected mama dog and her 4 puppies were thrown out of a moving vehicle in the Harris County Animal Shelter parking lot. This family was already missing half their fur from malnutrition. Then, after being thrown out of the moving vehicle, mama Frea and one of her babies suffered injuries that caused broken bones. Frea has a fracture in her leg and one of her puppies, Faron, has a femoral fracture. We don't know how anyone could do such a thing but we're here to get the love and care they deserve. Once they are healed, we can transport them to one of our rescue partners where they will be adopted and will never know neglect again.
These babies are pictured below along with a video of the rest of their friends who need to transport.
Please consider donating towards these animals and their new beginnings. The next step is for them to be adopted and off of the harsh streets of Houston and surrounding areas. These animals will be forever grateful for your continued support.
