Help RPM keep saving euthanasia list animals from BARC
Since Rescued Pets Movement was founded in 2013, we’ve saved over 100,000 pets, including more than 79,000 dogs and cats from BARC, and given them the chance at a future! Our efforts have been crucial in helping BARC achieve its “no-kill” status, with a live release rate consistently over 80%, a dramatic increase from just 42.6% in 2012 before RPM began.
Houston faces a severe and ongoing crisis with stray and abandoned animals. Each year, approximately 1.5 million dogs and cats are euthanized because shelters are overcrowded, and there are not enough adopters, fosters and rescues. With more animals than there are homes in the Houston area willing to adopt them, our city shelters are over-capacity and making difficult decisions. That's where RPM steps in and saves the most at-risk animals. We provide them with essential veterinary care and rehabilitation they need through our network of loving foster homes and our boarding facility. Once they’re ready, these animals are transported to our trusted rescue partners across the U.S. where there’s a high demand for adoptable pets.
On average, it costs over $450 per pet to provide the necessary veterinary care, rehabilitation, and transport to give them a new chance at life. Your tax-deductible donation can make a world of difference. Every pledge honored helps us cover the cost of transport, vet care, and the journey from Houston to a safe new home!
