Help Us Care for Boogie!

Boogie is only 8 months old and has already endured such cruelty. He was found tied to a pole with his throat mangled by an embedded collar. He must have been in such pain before BARC, the city of Houston's pound, picked him up. Our rescue team met him and couldn't let him endure all this and then be euthanized! Despite a human clearly to blame, he is trusting and loving to everyone he meets. Our team is determined to give this precious boy the care he deserves and we're hoping our great network of supporters will come through for Boogie as they have for so many of our tough cases!

There’s no sugarcoating it, Boogie’s wound is severe. The exposed flesh around his collar is raw, inflamed, and infected. Our vet says hydrotherapy will be essential to cleanse the area and promote healing, but Boogie’s recovery will take time, supportive care, and constant monitoring. Our vet recommends allowing the injury to heal naturally, as that is the safest option for now and evaluating if stitches are needed to close it if his little body cannot do so on its on.

Our team is fighting to give Boogie the fresh start he deserves, but the cost of his treatment, follow-up care, and daily medical supplies is adding up fast. With limited funds and several ongoing rescue cases already counting on us, our team is struggling to manage the mounting expenses. We're still saving dozens of animals daily from euthanasia and we don't want to have to limit intake!
